Dantalian no Shoka Episode 2

Look'et mah smokin hot waifu doll partner
4/5 Stars

Decent episode with some decent storytelling that seems, albeit, rushed and bland.

I like it. But there were some parts of the episode that made me lose my sense of emotional connection with the plot. The little sequences like the book-stabbing and the golem killing really seemed to lose their absurdity and panic. There was very little shock when introducing some key turnabouts and the antagonists were a bit unexplained in their illogical behavior, but these are small problems.
Ready for round two?

The best part about this series: The sense of reliable IQ in these characters. Usually there're a couple stupid characters here and there, and some even include the main characters like Kujou in Gosick. However, Dantalian no Shoka doesn't do this. Well, at least not yet. And I am quite pleased. Exaggerated personas and character models can be like double-edged swords, they can be the best or worst thing depending on how you use them. The way that Gainax gets rid of this problem is by balancing the characters. They seem more realistic and even in a historical preference, they are believable.

Don't take this the wrong way. I liked this episode, but after episode 1, I wanted more. This episode seemed a tad rushed and under-exclaimed.
The impact was weakened, but that's to be expected.
