4/5 Stars (Great)
Episode 4 continues the investigation of Rin's mother and the transition from day care to elementary school. And we finally got the first glimpse of Kouki who is gonna become one of the key characters later on in the series.
Rin's prep for elementary school was adorable. Especially when they went shopping for her supplies... Plus, I liked how they added support from the coworker about taking care of Rin. The whole world of Usagi Drop always felt real to me because of the attention to detail in daily lives, and how the author does a good job of noting the little changes that make a single worker into a parent.
Daikichi did a horrible job of tying Rin's hair btw |
I never thought I'd say this, but Milf banzai! Kouki's mom was awesome and she looks a lot better than how she did in the manga. She is a sweet and lovable woman that deserves a better man.
Now, on with the episode, again, it was solid Noitamina pacing with cute scenes just overflowing all over the place. Rin is an awesome child. I have to go "daww" every 2 minutes cuz she keeps doing good, innocent things like helping younger children...
The end of the episode was such an awesome cliffhanger. I thought it was well performed because it was silent in an anticlimactic way, but the content shriveled up all the actual plot twists. It was good and this episode is solid just like all the others.
Can't wait to see more Rin and her mother next episode. |
